Day 21 - Squares

I know, I fell behind again! But I have a super good reason for that and you will see it in my next post :). So on with my Friday. I was up early to help my dad clean out our storage shed. That wasn't too bad I guess, I kept looking around for spiders or mice. Than I went shopping with Mr. VIP. I had to pick up a few more things for my nephews birthday cake and for my little Ricos. Mr. VIP picked out an awesome pair of shoes, which he has been anxiously waiting to see them on my blog. After our shopping trip we went to the pet store and I saw the cutest puppy Boxer. She was so sweettt.

Alright on to the squares. There are so many different recipes for squares. Whenever you need dessert ideas to bring to parties or dinners, squares are always a great idea,. There are so many flavours, they are nice a light, and usually not too messy. I am giving 2 recipes, same idea just 2 different flavours. I have given a chocolate confetti and a butterscotch confetti.

Butterscotch Confetti

½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup peanut butter
2 cup butterscotch chips
2 cups coloured mini marshmallows.

Melt butter and peanut butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Stir in chips until melted.  Remove from heat and cool until you can hold your hand to the bottom of the pot. To speed process, stir while holding pan in cold water until cool enough. Add marshmallows and stir until all are coated. Pack down in 9x9 inch pan that has been lined in wax paper. Refrigerate.

 Makes 36 squares

Chocolate Confetti

¼ cup butter or margarine
½ cup peanut butter
1 package semi sweet chocolate chips
1 bag coloured mini marsh mallows
Melt butter and peanut butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Stir in chips until melted.  Remove from heat and cool until you can hold your hand to the bottom of the pot. To speed process, stir while holding pan in cold water until cool enough. Add marshmallows and stir until all are coated. Pack down in 9x9 inch pan that has been lined in wax paper. Refrigerate.
Makes 36 squares

Melt everything in a sauce pan. When cool mix in marshmallows.

Chocolate and butterscotch confetti. Let set in the fridge.

Tips:
Ensure the mixture is cool before adding the marshmallows. They will melt if it is too hot.

Here are my new yellow shoes :). I got so many compliments when I wore them out yesterday.
Thanks Mr. VIP!!

Yay on my way to catching up on my posts. So you will get to see my surprise in my next post. Can't wait to show everyone :D

Happy Baking!
