Day 10 - Chocolate

The days just keep getting nicer and nicer. I decided to do my walk outside today rather than on the treadmill, so much harder than I thought it would be. Ok so before going any further a black spider just went running across my bed, almost had a heart attack. Back to the nice weather. It was gorgeous walking outside after sitting inside at a desk all day.

So today is chocolate. You can turn chocolate into anything; cupcakes, cookies, cake, ice cream, icing, pies, etc. I decided to go with a dessert that truly makes the chocolate the centre of attention. Fondue. Fondues are great for house parties where you want it to be a comfortable free flow environment. You start with a cheese and oil fondue for bread, meat, and veggies. Than you finish with a wonderful chocolate fondue with plates full of fruit. Also, with chocolate fondue you can choose between white, milk or dark chocolate, or do a mix and match of them.

Chocolate Fondue

2 cups chocolate (300 g)
1/2 cup light cream or condensed milk

Heat chocolate and cream in a double broiler until completely mixed and smooth.

Dipping Ideas for chocolate:
Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries
Grapes
Cantaloupe
Honey Dew Melon
Watermelon
Marshmallows
Bananas
Kiwis
Apple
Pear
Orange
Pineapple

Ensure you have a proper chocolate fondue set, as there is a different type for oil

Heat the cream and chocolate together, not separately, this avoids burning and curdling

Heat until smooth and warm

A chocolate fondue also makes a gorgeous centrepiece

Who doesn't love melted chocolate

Tips:
Watch the chocolate and warm it slowly, as it can easily burn

The perfect shoes for Chocolate day, are chocolate brown pumps

Well my nephews 1st birthday is coming up, I have to go shopping for gifts. If anyone has any ideas please share with me :). I only had sisters so I am at a complete loss, this is why I am taking a guy with me shopping to help me, I am so hopeless.

Happy Baking!
